Accurascale
‘Pannier’ tank
Converted to 18.83 gauge.
The above model has been converted to 18.83. Using new scale wheels, a new brass final drive gear and axle bearings and balance weights have also been added to finish the model off.
The conversion need two other things doing. the first is that the brake pull rods on the outside need to be moved out otherwise they will rub on the front face of the tyre and second the rear sanding boxes behind the cab steps need the corner nearest the wheel filing down slightly so that the front face of the trailing driving wheels do not rub on the sanding boxes.
The next locomotive I will be looking at to convert will be the Rapido 44xx.
